“When I started not wearing a bra it was really uncomfortable and scary. Wearing a bra is one of those unwritten rules that we’re asked to conform to so that people don’t call us a SLUT or think we’re someone who’s careless or not PROFESSIONAL or think we’re asking to be looked at as a SEXUAL OBJECT. But what happens when we start showing up without a bra on and we AREN'T a slut and we AREN'T careless and we AREN'T asking to be treated or looked at any differently than the women next to us who choose to wear a bra?
I’m not asking for attention when I don’t wear a bra. I’m not asking to be looked at like a sexual object. I’m just choosing not to wear something that doesn’t serve me or support me. I’m choosing not to wear something that makes my body feel uncomfortable. I’m choosing to make choices that HONOUR my body, that are in alignment with the experience of life I want to create for myself and for others. Challenging the limiting beliefs of a culture takes practice, but the more I do it, the easier and more natural it becomes. The more I do the things that feel GOOD and RIGHT for me instead of doing what I think I “SHOULD” do so people think of me a certain way, the more comfortable and confident I feel.” @➡️lauraycordon for more feel good inspo .
