It may be the first day of Spring, but I woke up with a heavy heart. Last night I was asked to create a special piece for a momma who lost her precious toddler to brain cancer.
I sat down at my board this morning and just sobbed. The thought of losing one of my babies is unfathomable, especially to something as brutal as cancer.
Life is unfair sometimes. I don't know why things like things happen. But I know God is in control and has his hands around this momma and her family.
I knew I wanted to use Citrine, the stone of light and happiness, also it is yellow, the color of the Childhood Cancer Awareness ribbon.
I also wanted blue, because this child was a boy. Aquamarine is a stone of tranquility, peace and healing.
I know that nothing anyone says or does can take away her pain, but hopefully this will be a great reminder that she is not alone and to celebrate the time she did get to be is momma.
Hugging my babies a bit tighter today.
Thank you @mandy_le_yogi for being an incredible human #childhoodcancerawareness #themermaidmade
