    This is my attempt at @proteinpow Protein Banana Bread recipe. Highly recommended! Servings: 1 loaf 📊Nutritional value: 973kcals 101g protein 90g carbs 16g fat 34g fiber Per slice: (9 slices) 107kcals 11.1g protein 10g carb 1.8g fat 3.7g fiber Ingredients: •122g pumpkin puree •50g vanilla whey protein powder (I used @theproteinworks whey) •6 egg whites ~ 200g •2 bananas, one for batter & one buried inside •55g coconut flour •50g of oats •1 tsp cinnamon •1/2 tsp baking powder •pinch of salt Directions: ▪Preheat oven to 175°C ▪Add oats to food processor and blend to flour. Add all the other ingredients bar second banana. ▪Pour batter into loaf pan (preferably silicone mold) and bury your second banana. ▪Bake for 40 minutes or until knife comes out clean of batter.     UPPER/ LOWER SPLIT🏋️ 🔥An Upper Lower is great for beginners, intermediates and advanced lifters, and is personally what I recommend to anybody getting into powerlifting/strength training. Research seems to favour a training frequency of 2-3 days per week for optimal hypertrophy, even when volume is equated compared to a “bro split” (Schoenfeld et al., 2016). This is because muscle protein synthesis levels remain elevated 36-48hrs post workout in naturals (Burd et al., 2012). This means a muscle group should be ready to train again after this period, so an upper/lower split works perfectly🤙 . 🙏This split also allows for the use of daily undulating periodisation (DUP). DUP refers to a daily fluctuation in volume and intensity and is done by changing rep ranges and weights from session to session. DUP has been shown to be superior than Linear periodisation when it comes to increasing strength (Rhea et al., 2002). Undulating rep ranges are also superior to building muscle than fixed ranges (Schoenfeld, 2015).     Poached Eggs & Bacon on Toast . 16.5k steps so far @fitbituk_ireland so time for brunch. Wholemeal bread topped with grilled bacon , poached eggs (bring water to boil & crack eggs into water for 2 1/2mins... eh voila) & topped with red onion. . Everyone wants to be better NOW, but this isn’t realistic. Tissue healing takes TIME. We can’t rush it.     Training - be it strength training and cardiovascular training should never be see as a means of burning calories. - The minute you start viewing training as 60mins of doing something that will “burn off” something you ate or something that allows you to reward yourself and eat more later you have simply lost the point of what training is about. - Training is about development. It’s a self investment that improves your health markers, allows you to build muscle mass and strength and psychologically can build your self belief and esteem. It should be a quest for constant self improvement and performance. (*note the word “self” meaning you don’t compare yourself to what others are doing). - If you fall in to the trap of training to burn calories you again back up an underlying disordered eating pattern and poor relationship with both exercise and food. - If you are in a position where exercise and good nutrition are something you see as “a chore” or “unenjoyable” but for others it seems like such a happy medium, have you asked yourself why that is? - Just maybe, it’s because your life long perception of exercise and nutrition has been associated with - 1. Losing weight 2. Burning food off 3. A number on a scale 4. Poor body image 5. A chore that always seems difficult - Your association of food and exercise has turned negative - that could be why it always feels so stressful and unachievable? - Bring back the association of health and enjoyment.
