1-dirty yogini feet- it's a beautiful thing.
2- I enjoy arm balances. There are some that have been easier/more accessible to me than others over the years, but Side Crow was not one of them. My bestie/mentor/biz partner boo Courtney has guided me into it before, but it never felt as solid or retainable as it did this weekend (during the workshop held as part of our first weekend of Yahweh Yoga Teacher training thru Vessels of Clay Yoga- first time ever in Missouri!). So, yes, personal exhilirating goal, and I think it will stick! I had a moment of self-realization and connection this time that made it happen.
What you need to know:
Arm balances are not the goal of yoga, nor does arm balance ability make you a better person or a better yogi. Also, arms are not even the biggest part of the equation.
The important stuff has to do with the combo of you inside you, your connection to your mind, body, and Spirit... And sometimes, it so happens that can turn into meeting a physical goal as well.
But sometimes, you are just naturally able to do some stuff, and not so able to do others. I may never access a full expression of dancer or lotus. Or Maybe I will. I have on older student whose practice is quite limited, but for whatever reason, she can pop right into Half Moon at the wall.
You are not defined by a pose.
But it is fun to expand ourselves. #christianyogini #christianyogis
