    I was not able to see Black Panther until last night and I have to say, it’s still deeply resonating with me today. It’s a game changer! While all the characters were strong in their own right, I absolutely LOVED seeing my sisters portrayed in such a strong, beautiful and empowered way! Congrats to Ryan Coogler and the entire cast! This is just the beginning.

    Yooooooo this is about overcoming discomfort and fatigue! Initially when adapting to a fitness lifestyle, fear of discomfort usually sets in. The truth is, when you get fit, exercise is actually something you look forward to. It’s a stress reliever (God knows I’ve needed that over the years), makes you feel relaxed, optimistic and those endorphins are just heavenly! After I workout, I feel like I can conquer the world. Ok, now real talk, I do sometimes get fatigued, tired and don’t always look forward to my workouts but that is when I force myself to push harder and work through it. When I get to the other side, it’s always well worth my effort. Why? Because I’m worth it and so are YOU! Today’s exercise is about lifting and firming our butts! Trust me the battle is real for us to keep it tight and right, especially if you have an average butt like me. 😄 So today I’m sharing a simple exercise that I love! We call it a skyscraper. It’s easy to do at home all you need is a ball, a stack of towels or anything that you can lift your foot on. I’m also sharing another exercise for your core. My core is the only muscle group I work on everyday. A strong core is an essential part of performing every other workout I do. We call this exercise a sit through. All you need for that is a towel!     Thank God it’s Today is all about the couple workout. It’s often easier to workout with a partner. A partner holds you accountable so you won’t quit halfway through. A partner can spot you so you don’t injure yourself, but most of all, working out with a partner just makes it all more fun! Here are two simple exercises you and your boo can do at home. It’s a plank with a squat and each person gets a workout at the same time. Squats for butt and legs and plank for core and upper body. Do 20 reps for 10 sets.     It’s once again. Today I’m gonna share with you a few exercises that I do that you can do at home. Over the years I have enjoyed learning to box and shadow box as a way of mixing up my workout regime. The first exercise is shadow boxing with a sprawl. It’s good for the upper body, core and lungs. It’s also low impact and calorie burning. The second exercise is shadow boxing with a sit up. This is also a nice way to build upper body strength and the core! And trust me those punches get heavy after a while. If you wanna get extra with it you can add light weights. If you don’t have weights grab water bottles or even cans of soup. It works, I promise you! I do 10 to 20 reps of each one with a minimum of 10 rounds. However you can modify the reps and rounds based on your fitness level.     Today let’s talk about food. I think the most important part of being healthy and in great shape largely depends on what and when you eat. Being diabetic most of my life, I have always had to take food very seriously. So for years, I have been following the keto or ketogenic diet. I hate the word “diet” so while you’ll see the word diet, just know I encourage you to think of it as a lifestyle change NOT A DIET! Keto is a very low-carb food plan which actually forces your body to burn fat like crazy. I also believe it’s been largely responsible for slowing down my aging process. The keto lifestyle offers so many benefits such as weight loss, (moms that’s how we get rid of our baby bellies), appetite control, more energy and better mental performance. If you’re like me, you can possibly reverse type 2 diabetes, you’ll experience better physical endurance, better skin and also less acne if that’s an issue. And it even helps control migraines!
